The Empire of Furia Prime is a massive, safe nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.557 billion are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.
The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Defence, Social Welfare, and Law & Order. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 25%. A robust private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Gambling and Woodchip Exports.
A crusade against barbaric religious practices has begun, military spending is on the increase, Red Cross demand for body bags are rising while sutures are decreasing, and religious organizations are being forced to leave the country or pay income taxes like everybody else. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Furia Prime's national animal is the sabretooth tiger and its currency is the dinarium.
